Questions Are The Answers
Moms, dads, educators, and community leaders—let’s plant and seed money conversations in the heads and hearts of children in 2026.
By asking the right questions, we can help kids develop positive money habits and healthy attitudes that set them up for lifelong financial success.
Best of all, the process can be simple, natural, and fun.
With that in mind and as Sammy Rabbit says, let's get to it!
About This Series
This series is designed to support parents, teachers, and mentors by providing thought-provoking questions that spark meaningful conversations about money.
Here’s the key idea to remember:
If kids respond—great.
If they don’t respond—great.
You do not have to give the “right” answer or over-explain. Your role is to nudge, guide, and keep planting seeds. Learning about money is an ongoing process that requires consistency and repetition to build confidence, competence, and mastery.
As Sammy Rabbit likes to say—let’s get to it.
Today’s Theme and Main Question
Theme: Goals are as good as gold!
Main Question:
“Have you set a savings goal for the new year?”
Build the Conversation With These Follow-Up Questions
If your child engages with today’s question, consider asking one or more of the questions below. Feel free to revise or rephrase them to match your child’s age and interests.
What are some things you’d like to save up for this year?
How much money do you think you’ll need to reach your savings goal?
What steps can you take to help you reach that goal?
Where might the money come from—earning, gifts, or saving part of what you already receive?
Are there any challenges you think you might face while saving?
How could you work through those challenges if they come up?
Would you like help or advice while working toward your goal?
How will it feel when you finally reach your savings goal?
Remember: there’s no rush. Each question is another seed planted.
