Week 3 Activities

This week's focus is on having kids write their own version of Sammy's Big Dream!

It can be as simple as changing one word per page or as imagination stretching as changing every word on every page.

Share with your kids and students that Sammy Rabbit says:

(1) Writing helps us think; and

(2) Writing helps to better understand and comprehend concepts.

Below are suggested daily activities for Week 3 of Sammy Rabbit’s 27 Week Financial Education Program for Young Kids.

The suggested activities are intended to create short money moments (experiences and conversations) to keep kids thinking and learning about money on a regular basis, even daily.

Pick activities and proceed at a pace you determine best.

Feel free to contact Sammy or Hub Partners for additional suggestions.

Day 1

Write the story.  Complete Chapter 1 - pages 1 to 3. Title the chapter. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 2

Continue to write the story. Complete Chapter 2 - pages 4 to 6. Title the chapter. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 3

Continue to write the story. Complete Chapter 3 - pages 7 to 11. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 4

Continue to write the story. Complete Chapter 4 - pages 12 to 18. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 5

Continue to write the story. Complete Chapter 5 - pages 19 to 21. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 6

Continue to write the story. Complete Chapter 6 - pages 22 to 26. Follow writing with a review and conversation.

Or, have kids go at their own pace.

Day 7

Have kids read their new story. Have them edit and revise the story as they determine best.
