Chuck Barrett is known as the man behind the microphone for University of Arkansas Razorback football. Predictably, one of Barrett’s favorite phrases is “Touchdown Arkansas!” But here are two tidbits about Barrett many may not know:
He has always known what he has wanted to do for a living.
He began his broadcasting career in a far less eye-catching role — doing play-by-play over the PA system at Little League games.
Is it any wonder in 2015 the Fayetteville Flyer described Barrett as living a dream as Voice of the Razorbacks.
On February 28 Barrett lead a Dream Big Read Financial Education Experience at Jones Elementary School in Springdale, Arkansas. There, he rendered a stirring reading of Sammy’s Big Dream to students!
The story book provides readers with hope and concrete clues to choices, including financial choices, they can make to achieve their dreams and goals, just like the story’s hero Sammy Rabbit and its reader, Chuck Barrett.
The reading orchestrated by Economic Arkansas celebrated America Saves Week and helped raise awareness on the need for early age financial literacy and financial education.
The Mission
Have one million kids own, read and experience a Sammy's Big Dream Book by the end of 2020! We want kids to develop great money habits at an early age so they can have better and brighter futures!
