My Journey

Growing up, I realized that our school curriculum didn't teach us about money management. We didn't learn how to earn, save, invest, or even manage our finances. It was all about textbooks and exams. But I was always curious about how money works.

I wondered why schools didn't teach us about budgeting, investing, or saving. This question sparked my journey. When I was 13, a teacher gave me a book called "You Can Win" by Shiv Khera. It was the first self-help book I ever read. One line stuck with me: "Success leaves footprints. If you follow them, you can achieve success too." This idea that success is learnable opened my mind to new possibilities.

I started exploring books about money and success, and "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki was a game-changer. It taught me how money actually works, and I discovered my passion for finance, business, and entrepreneurship.

Coming from a place with limited access to quality education, I didn't have many opportunities. But I was determined to learn. I saved my pocket money and took online courses from platforms like Coursera, Alison, and Udemy. Learning about financial literacy gave me confidence and direction.

That's why I'm proud to be part of Sammy's "Be the Change" initiative. As the founder of HER, a digital platform for young girls, I empower them with basic life skills like financial literacy, saving, and budgeting. My dream is to ensure no girl grows up without knowing how money works, because it can change everything.

Sammy's initiative aims to inspire you to learn about money at a young age. So, what's your dream?
